The RUUD Foundation Scholarship is your opportunity to graduate debt-free from any of these 3 universities – Fort Hays, Emporia State, or Wichita State University. Review the scholarship requirements and make sure to be prepared to start your application on October 3rd. We want to have a #ruddscholar at Basehor-Linwood High school.

ACT Reminder:

ACT score is a requirement for our application. You don't need a high score, but it is required. We have scholars with scores lower than 22 but have strong applications.

 Scholarship Eligibility

  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be a resident of the state of Kansas and qualify for in-state tuition
  • Must have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Demonstrated financial need (Pell-eligible)
  • Must be admitted and will attend either Emporia State, Fort Hays State, or Wichita State University

Scholar Requirements

  • Living on campus in pre-approved dormitories/rooms
  • Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • On track to graduate in 4 years
  • Complete FAFSA form annually
  • Active member of the Rudd Scholar Program through events and other activities

Student scholarships are open! Many scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year are already taking applications. Students can learn more about what's available at https://www.emporia.edu/admissions-costs/admissions-and-costs/scholarships/ and submit their application in the ESU Scholarship Library as long as they have applied to Emporia State.

The Fort Hays State University Admissions Office invites all future Tigers to spend the morning of Saturday, November 5th on our campus. The day is designed for high school juniors and seniors, as well as transfer students. $5,000 in scholarships will be given away!

 

Tiger Day allows students to learn more about academic programs, scholarship opportunities, student life, and co-curricular activities!

Scholarships: **FHSU NOW SUPERSCORES FOR ADMISSION AND SCHOLARSHIPS**
 
We offer one of the most robust automatic scholarship programs around.  Students can earn up to $15,000 over four years just by sending us their ACT/SAT scores and unweighted cumulative GPA.  Students can also apply and accept by using our scholarship estimator at https://www.fhsu.edu/admissions/scholarships/freshmen.

Upcoming Deadlines

  • October 15th:
    • Wichita State’s scholarship competition Admission deadline. We need all admission materials in by this deadline in order for students to be eligible to submit their scholarship competition applications. Students can apply at: Wichita.edu/apply
  • November 1st:
  • December 1st:
    • Freshman Merit Scholarship Deadline. In order for students to be considered for a Freshman Merit Scholarship, students must be admitted to Wichita State by December 1st. Students can see what they could qualify for at: Wichita.edu/freshmanmerit which includes revised and increased scholarship award levels.
    • Housing early bird deadline #1. Students who submit their housing application by the early bird deadline #1 will have priority for room selection when it opens in the spring: Wichita.edu/housing

    • Our Spanish Admissions Website is officially up and running! It’s been a long time coming and we are really excited to finally be able to share this. The purpose of this new website is to provide admissions information and resources for Spanish-speaking prospective students and their families to set them up for success during their college-search process.
